Whether it’s Halloween or Christmas season we are talking about, if you don’t feel like dressing up as a superhero this year, why not go as Santa Claus? Much like the history of Halloween, the history of Santa Claus goes back a couple hundred years as well.
It is believed that monk named St. Nicholas was born in 280 A.D. near Myra in modern-day Turkey, in a place called Patara. He donated all of his wealth and he traveled everywhere to help the sick and the poor. Over the years, be became known as the patron saint to children, sailors, brides, the hungry, and scholars. December 6th, which is said to be the date of his death, is celebrated as his feast day and was considered a great day to get married or make large purchases. Well, it is easy to see where part of the current Christmas gift giving comes from.
Since we all can’t be Santa Claus, there is nothing to prevent us from dressing up as Santa Claus. Below are some Santa costumes for all genders and ages that are readily available in the market. There are sexy costume versions of Santa Claus for females, and there are some for kids, toddlers, babies and Santa suits of a different variety as well.
This is the suit you see on folks dressed up as Santa and ringing those bells to raise money for children and other charity sources. Most of the suit is a vivid burgundy with pure white trim and a comfortable waist made from elastic.
There are, of course, pockets for when you want to give out candy while you are going trick-or-treating. This costume is the typical looking Santa that you can see everywhere.
Are you a woman who wants to dress up as Santa, but don’t go with the sexy look, especially in colder areas? Now you don’t have to worry about that, this is a Santa suit for women!
With the polyester crushed velvet with white faux fur, it looks very comfortable, the only issue is that there doesn’t seem to be any noticeable pockets. Well, I guess that is what Santa’s bag is for? Nope, we demand pockets! Santa, in any form, must have pockets!
Who says you have to be an adult to be Santa Claus? Move over old man, the kids are taking over! A great way to turn tradition on its head and have other kids wonder how Santa got to be so short and so young looking.
Do it well enough and the neighborhood kids will notice a similarity of young Santa to that kid that goes to school with them. Nah, it couldn’t be. Could be, but child Santa wouldn't be the only ones Clark Kenting it.
Speaking of kids taking over, why not have a girl take over from the beginning? Gone are the days of gender inequality, isn’t it? Weirdly enough, there are still no pockets in this costume, but we’re sure the new little Santa will have that covered in no time as kids are notoriously creative and innovative.
Sacrilege, how is Santa supposed to hand out candy if she doesn't have any pockets in which to store the candy until the time is right?! Anyway, this is still a great Santa costume for girls - child or teen.
Or the Santa takeover could start from an even younger age of toddlerhood! This Santa might need a lot of naps and the elves may have to endure a lot of temper tantrums until Santa grows out of it, but it will be one of the cutest Santas ever!
Although, the elves might have to do some extra work to change Toddler Santa’s diapers and make sure Santa gets fed when hungry. Side note though, I really don't think this version of Santa would need pockets because we don't want Toddler Santa throwing a Santa tantrum when they can't get something out of their pockets.
Why not start off even younger? Like before a person is actually able to retain their memories? It will be so easy to do! Just raise baby Santa as if they are the same Santa, raise them on stories of what the previous Santa did and “explain” to the baby Santa, once it gets a little older, that once Santa had felt he had gotten too old, he performed a magic spell to start over as a baby.
Of course, he and the elves prepared for his not being able to be in charge for a few years by making extra toys in anticipation of this event. Raise the baby as Santa and the person will be Santa.
